Freedom of Information Publication Scheme.
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) is different legislation from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The FOIA does not apply to personal data:
The Act does not give people access to their personal data. If a member of the public wants to see information that a public authority holds about him/her, he/she should make a Subject Access Request under the GDPR.
The FOIA requires public authorities and schools to:
Have a publication scheme approved by the ICO
Publish information covered by this scheme
What are the timescales for responding to requests?
Normally 20 school days or 60 working days if this is shorter
The time allowed for complying with a request starts when your organisation receives it, not when it reaches the freedom of information officer or other relevant member of staff.
Where can I find an Academy’s Freedom of information Publication Scheme?
Each School/Academy within the Albany Learning Trust has their Freedom of Information Publication Scheme on their own website. All Schools/Academies handle Freedom of Information Requests – please contact the School Business Managers directly.
Where can I find further help and support?
